I cannot believe it has been nearly 18 months since I last posted. Since then, I have finally enrolled in my first seminary class through Reformed Theological Seminary’s global campus. With this, I have decided on a subtle shift to my blog. I am going to use this forum to post about what I am studying and learning as I go through each one of my seminary classes (there may be other posts as well). This will help me as I take these classes, reading the assigned texts and listening to the lectures, and I pray it will benefit you as well.
The first class I have enrolled in is “Introduction to Theological Studies”, taught by Dr. James Anderson. The focus of this class is an introduction to Reformed theology with an emphasis on the 5 Solas and the 5 doctrines of grace, or TULIP. Below, I have listed the 5 required books for this course:
Biblical Theology in the Life of the Church by Michael Lawrence (Crossway, 2010)
The Unquenchable Flame by Michael Reeves (B&H, 2010) – I highly recommend this brief history of the Reformation. I am enjoying it immensely.
What is Reformed Theology? by R.C. Sproul (Baker Books, 2005)
Lectures on Calvinism by Abraham Kuyper (Hendrickson, 2008)
Why Do I Suffer? by John Currid (Christian Focus, 2004)
I am looking forward to this upcoming journey. I hope you enjoy my posts.
